Kid Rock's tribute to Dolly Parton has blown up back in his face.
Fans and celebrities around the world were quick to flock to social media with emotional tributes to the beloved country singer, who died on August 25 at the age of 80. Her representatives confirmed that she passed away at a hospital in Nashville following a brief battle with cancer.
One of those people was fellow country star Kid Rock, who took to both Instagram and X to honor the Coat of Many Colors hitmaker following the sad news. It comes as Dolly Parton's heartbreaking last 10-word statement before her death has been revealed.

The Bawitdaba rocker posted a video of Dolly saying, "Hey, Kid Rock. It's Dolly, I'm here at Kids Studio, and just wanted to say hi. I know we're both celebrating birthdays this weekend.
"Hope you have as much fun as I'm hoping to have. I just saw a whole bunch of fans heading down to your restaurant to celebrate your birthday movie. Anyway, you have a great weekend, love Dolly."
In the video message, Dolly was wearing a pink velour zip-up hoodie with a white sports bra underneath. Her signature blonde locks were styled into shaggy bangs to shape her face, and she looked as glam as ever.

Kid Rock also shared a series of pictures with Dolly at what appeared to be an event and another at a recording studio. "Quite simply The G.O.A.T. Thanks for the songs, the laughs, the humility and grace.
"Without a doubt a woman who God truly has his hands on. Rock on Dolly, baby rock on," Kid Rock penned in the caption, sparking a surge of replies from his followers.

In the replies, one confused user asked, "@kidrock How can you be out here cryin about Dolly when she hated TRUMP, man???" as another blasted, "Using today’s news to brag about having this Dame in your phone…. I see you man! Still a smoke show. RIP Dolly"
Someone else wrote, "She was everything you aren't and will never be," prompting a fourth to echo, "How's it feel knowing you made the soundtracks for meth while she did so much better at everything than you ever will?"
"Oh glory! You finally said something relevant...probably just yo get attention but thanks, she was a diamond in a coal mine. My heart is heavy with grief," a fifth chimed in.

And a sixth person slammed, "She was absolutely lovely. The polar opposite of the people you surround yourself with these days, sadly. I hope you take this opportunity to become more like her."
While Dolly's team confirmed her cause of death was due to a brief battle with cancer, she had been quietly dealing with a series of health issues over the past few months.
She had previously postponed and canceled several public appearances, including a highly anticipated Las Vegas residency, to address ongoing health concerns.
