Train services have been suspended on the main west coast train route after a person was found dead at a railway station in Lancashire.
British Transport Police (BTP) said officers were called to Leyland railway station just before 07:00 BST on Monday, following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, with the person pronounced dead at the scene.
Avanti West Coast said all lines have been blocked between Preston and Wigan North Western due to "emergency services managing an incident".
Transpennine Express also said all lines were closed, with disruption was expected until 10:30 BST.

A BTP spokesman said: "Officers were called to Leyland railway station at 6.53am today (12 October) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
National Rail has warned "trains running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised" in order to allow emergency services to "safely carry out their work".
