TikTok star Grandma Mary died on New Year's Eve at age 98

TikTok star Grandma Mary has died. She was 98.
Her granddaughter, who is known on social media as Pyxie, announced she died in her sleep on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
“On New Year’s Eve, we said goodbye to Grandma,” Pyxie captioned a tribute video shared on TikTok. “She peacefully passed away in her sleep."
“How lucky we are to have experienced her and her love,” Pyxie added. “She will always be with us.”
In the video, Grandma Mary could be heard saying “Good morning,” as Pyxie stood behind a camera. Several shots of the late TikTok star performing everyday tasks, such as making breakfast and washing her hands, were then shown.
“Grandma Mary. Mary 13, 1927 - December 31, 2025,” the text over the video read. The tribute ended with a clip of Grandma Mary thanking Pyxie for coming to visit her.
Fans were previously concerned when Pyxie stopped sharing videos with Grandma Mary on TikTok for several months in 2025.
Responding to fans’ worries on Dec. 19, Pyxie posted a video rounding up key moments in their lives.
“I got teary putting this together 🥺,” she captioned the video. “For anyone wondering, Grandma is alive and quieter these days. What a beautiful thing it is to witness who she is, and who she helped me become 😭.”

Grandma Mary was born to Armenian parents who arrived in America after fleeing genocide, according to TMZ. When she briefly moved back to Armenia, she started a family with her husband.
The couple, who had a son and daughter together, ran a gas station business in New Jersey for decades after returning to the United States in 1966, the outlet reported.
Grandma Mary outlived her five siblings, according to TMZ.
