As Kate Middleton and Prince William’s only daughter, Princess Charlotte is set to inherit an incredible jewelry collection.

Among the pieces she may one day receive from the Princess of Wales are earrings, necklaces, and bracelets once worn by Princess Diana.

Other jewels that have already been passed down by generations of royals include the Bahrain pearl drop earrings and the Nizam of Hyderabad and Berar necklace.

Princess Charlotte may be third in line to the British throne, but she’s first in line to inherit her mother’s million-dollar jewelry collection.

The only daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Charlotte has already worn her share of dazzling accessories. In 2023, she sported a glittering Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen headpiece (not to be confused with a tiara) while attending the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla. More recently, the princess wore a diamond horseshoe brooch given to her by her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, at the 2025 Trooping the Colour parade.

As she gets older, Charlotte will likely begin inheriting or borrowing the sparkling royal jewels currently owned by her mother, the Princess of Wales. After all, Charlotte’s aunt Anne, Princess Royal, first wore a tiara at 17 years old—breaking with the tradition that only brides and married women may do so. Kate’s covetable jewelry collection includes gifts from her husband, such as necklaces, earrings, and bracelets previously worn by the late Princess Diana, and pieces left to her by fellow royals like the late queen.

She doesn’t need the jewelry to shine, however. Charlotte has already garnered praise for acting every part the princess during royal outings—often helping manage the temperaments of her brothers and setting a regal example. “It’s truly her personality — it’s not forced,” childrenswear designer Amaia Arrieta, who has met Charlotte, told People in a 2025 cover story. “She looks very confident and at ease with herself and the environment she’s in. The maturity that comes with that responsibility—she seems to nail it every time.”

Below, learn more about the valuable and enchanting jewels Princess Charlotte will likely inherit from Kate Middleton.

Part of a sizable jewelry bequest Elizabeth the Queen Mother received from socialite Dame Margaret Greville, the Greville Chandelier earrings have been owned by at least three generations of royals. The Queen Mother gave them to her daughter, the future Queen Elizabeth II, as a wedding gift. The late monarch, in turn, frequently wore the glittering Cartier drop earrings during her historic reign. It appears Middleton has since inherited them. The Princess of Wales recently accessorized with the 40-carat earrings while attending the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards.

Subtle yet striking, the three-strand pearl bracelet has been part of some of the most iconic royal fashion moments in history. Diana wore it with her “Elvis” dress, embroidered with a show-stopping 28,600 pearls, on a 1989 visit to Hong Kong.

Middleton debuted the bracelet during a 2017 tour of Germany, pairing it with a playful printed dress. In 2025, Middleton wore the piece to a Holocaust Memorial Day service, per People. The princess will likely pass on her love of pearls—and her covetable collection of them—to her only daughter.

The four-strand pearl choker is another royal necklace that’s been worn by three generations—and will likely pass on to a fourth. Queen Elizabeth reportedly had the necklace made in the 1970s, after receiving a suite of pearls from the Japanese government as a gift. She wore the piece to a banquet in Bangladesh in the early 1980s, while her daughter-in-law, Diana, wore it to a state banquet in 1982. Middleton has worn the piece to symbolize her love for her grandmother-in-law, donning it at a celebration of Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s 70th wedding anniversary and at both of their funerals.

Princess Diana wore what are known as the Diamond and South Sea Pearl Drop earrings (without pearls) during one of her final public appearances: seeing the English National Ballet performance of Swan Lake in June 1997. But the jewelry’s moniker might be a misnomer.

According to The Court Jeweller, the actual earrings intended to match Diana’s South Sea pearl necklace weren’t finished at the time of the Swan Lake performance, causing Diana to wear a different pair of laurel wreath diamond earrings to the event. It’s this pair that Middleton received as a gift from Prince William—and which Charlotte may one day inherit. Middleton has worn them to the 2019 BAFTAs, among other events.

Among Middleton’s signature accessories is a pair of drop earrings from Collingwood. The U.K.-based jeweler crafted the delicate accessories as a wedding gift for Princess Diana in 1981. Middleton debuted them in 2017, and they’ve fast become a favorite of hers—she even wears them in her 40th birthday portrait. On Remembrance Sunday in 2025, she donned the earrings in what many royal fans saw as a meaningful tribute to her late mother-in-law.

Another wedding present that’s turned into a cherished heirloom? The Bahrain pearl drop earrings, originally part of Elizabeth’s collection. The Hakim of Bahrain gifted her the pearls on the occasion of her 1947 wedding to Philip. Pearls may be the nautical treasures du jour for the royal family, but they have an equally enduring love of sapphires. Enter the sapphire and diamond earrings, which Queen Elizabeth initially acquired in the late 1970s. She often paired the dazzling baubles with a custom loop-style necklace, wearing the set on several visits to Canada and in her official Canadian portrait in 2005. Middleton has since inherited the sapphire and diamond earrings, first stepping out with them at an NHS event in 2021. (These are not to be confused with the double-drop sapphire and diamond earrings the princess also wears, which previously belonged to Princess Diana.)

Elizabeth’s luxurious wedding presents comprise many of the bejeweled items in the royal family’s private collections today—as opposed to other pieces, like the Oriental Circlet Tiara, which belong to the Royal Collection and as such are property of the current monarch.

One of her most fabulous wedding gifts was the Nizam of Hyderabad and Berar necklace, sent to her by its namesake. The marvelous Cartier creation has a central rose motif, and retails for an estimated $86 million (£65 million), InStyle previously reported. Middleton wowed in the necklace while attending a National Portrait Gallery gala in 2014, later donning it again for a Diplomatic Corps reception in 2019.

No, it’s not the Heart of the Ocean necklace from Titanic, but the Queen Mother’s Amethyst Sautoir Necklace does bear a striking resemblance to the oceanic jewel of legend. Per Marie Claire, the Queen Mother received the necklace as a wedding gift from Queen Alexandra in 1923. It features a lengthy sautoir-style strand of pearls anchored by a heart-shaped amethyst pendant and accent amethysts.Kate brought the piece out of the vault for the first time since 1925, when she wore it to the premiere of Tom Cruise’s 2026 film Digger on September 22. She paired the statement necklace with Diana’s Collingwood Pearl Drop Earrings. The princess wore a purple Jenny Packham gown to the event, its V-neck collar superbly framing the amethyst sautoir necklace.

The Art Deco Diamond Choker Bracelet

Of all the bracelets in the royal family’s collection, few are as diamond-drenched as the Queen Mary’s Art Deco bangle, also known as the Diamond Choker Bracelet. Tatler previously described it as “a truly extraordinary piece only reserved for the most glittering of royal occasions.”

According to the outlet, it was designed for Mary of Teck (wife of King George V) in the 1920s—hence its Art Deco design. It’s unknown if it was meant to be worn as a bracelet or choker. The Queen Mother wore it for a 1975 portrait, while Kate debuted it at a state banquet in 2015 to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan. More recently, she accessorized with the bracelet and the Greville Chandelier Earrings while attending the Royal Variety Performance in November 2025.
