Seth Rogen won Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy at the 2026 Golden Globes
The star of The Studio said winning was "so weird" because an episode of the first season of his Apple TV series is set at the Golden Globes
The other nominees in the category were Adam Brody for Nobody Wants This, Steve Martin for Only Murders in the Building, Glen Powell for Chad Powers, Martin Short for Only Murders in the Building and Jeremy Allen White for The Bear
Life imitated art at the 2026 Golden Globes when The Studio star Seth Rogen won Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
“This is so weird. We just pretended to do this. And now it’s happening,” said Rogen, 43, whose Hollywood-centric series The Studio, featured an episode set at the Golden Globes in its first season.
Rogen added that he “thought the only way I would get to hold one is to create a whole show to give myself a fake one.”
The actor recognized his fellow nominees in the category, including Adam Brody for Nobody Wants This, Steve Martin for Only Murders in the Building, Glen Powell for Chad Powers, Martin Short for Only Murders in the Building and Jeremy Allen White for The Bear.
"The other nominees, it’s incredible, Steve Martin and Martin Short especially. I remember growing up watching you guys my whole life, thinking one day I’m going to beat them,” he continued from the stage at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, Jan. 11, drawing laughter.
“I did not think that. An actor is really only as good as the people I get to perform with, and I’m very lucky that I get to choose those people. So I really want to thank the other performers on the show,” he continued, shouting out Chase Sui Wonders, Catherine O’Hara and Kathryn Hahn.

Seth Rogen in The Studio
In The Studio, Rogen portrays Matt Remick, a movie lover and new head of a fictional Hollywood movie studio under immense pressure. He also created, wrote and directed the series with longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg.
When it premiered in March 2025, Rogen told PEOPLE that the show — which has been renewed for a second season and features stars such as Dave Franco, Zoë Kravitz, Martin Scorsese, Ice Cube and Adam Scott throughout the 10-episode debut season — was inspired by his love for movies.
"It really is just our perspective of all of it,” he said. “I think we are constantly frustrated by Hollywood and disappointed in Hollywood, and aggravated by it, but at the same time, we see the magic.”
His costar O’Hara also earned a nod for her performance in The Studio, and the show is up for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy, as well.

Kristen Bell as Joanne and Adam Brody as Noah in Nobody Wants This
Brody, 46, plays the beloved "hot rabbi" Noah in Netflix’s Nobody Wants This, a series that follows the unexpected love story between him and sex podcaster Joanne (Kristen Bell). The show was an instant hit after its debut in September 2024 and recently aired another successful season 2.
Last year, Brody revealed his reaction to how quickly the show took off during an interview with PEOPLE: "I’ve been doing this a long time, and it doesn’t happen often, whoever you are," he said. "So it’s very gratifying and exciting."
In addition to his nomination, Nobody Wants This is also up for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy, along with Bell for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.

Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short in 'Only Murders in the Building'
In Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, Martin, 80, stars alongside Martin Short and Selena Gomez as three New Yorkers — Charles, Oliver and Mabel, respectively — living on the Upper West Side who come together over their love of true crime podcasts and end up finding themselves at the center of more than a few true crimes.
The series has aired five seasons since its 2021 premiere and has since been renewed for season 6. In 2022, Martin — who previously gushed over the joy of working on “an undeniable hit show” with close friend Short — told The Hollywood Reporter that OMITB might be his final acting project.
"When this television show is done, I'm not going to seek others," he revealed at the time. "I'm not going to seek other movies. I don't want to do cameos. This is, weirdly, it."
The trio are all nominated for their performances this year, as well as OMITB itself for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy.

Glen Powell as Chad Powers in 'Chad Powers'
Powell, 37, leads the Hulu series Chad Powers, as well as serving as co-creator and executive producer. It tells the story of former star quarterback Russ Holliday, who is “trying to resurrect his dreams by disguising himself as Chad Powers — a talented oddball who walks onto the struggling South Georgia Catfish” eight years after a catastrophic mistake costs his college football career, according to an official synopsis.
Ahead of the show’s premiere in September 2025, Powell opened up to PEOPLE about what draws him to roles like this, for which he has to undergo a significant physical transformation.
“I've just always liked playing pretend,” he explained. “I think anybody in this job sometimes feels more comfortable putting on a character and playing around and doing all that stuff. And I think, with this one, this is the joy of going to work and just getting to be goofy with your friends.”

Martin Short in 'Only Murders in the Building'
Short, 75, joins Martin and Gomez in the popular Only Murders in the Building series as Oliver, one member of the true-crime-loving trio entangled in investigations across New York City. In the past, Short shared his experience working on the show while talking with PEOPLE.
“I think everyone has the same review of that working on the show — that it's really fun and loose,” he said. “And that's kind of the philosophy of Steve, the way he's always worked, and so is Selena.”
“Everyone works in joy and happiness, because we’re lucky people," he added.
Short, Martin, Gomez and the series are all nominated for awards at this year’s ceremony.

Jeremy Allen White in 'The Bear'
White, 34, stars in The Bear as Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, a classically trained chef who takes over his family's iconic sandwich shop in the wake of his brother's death and attempts to turn it into a fine dining establishment with the help of his sous-chef Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and cousin Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach).
At the 2025 Golden Globes, White took home his third consecutive victory in the category.
When the show came out in 2022, White spoke about his character during an interview with GQ: "We kind of found each other at a similar place,” he said of Carmy. “He knew he's really gifted at this thing, but he could be painfully insecure about his abilities as well. I was feeling a little insecure at the end, too."
White is also recognized in the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama category for his portrayal of Bruce Springsteen in the biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. Additionally, The Bear is up for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy, and Edebiri is nominated this year for her performance as Sydney.
