Tomorrow is officially the first Monday in May, and this weekend, all the stars have started arriving in New York City in anticipation. With handfuls checking into the Mark Hotel and even more heading out for pre-parties, the city has somehow expanded to pack in as many designers, makeup artists, hair stylists, photographers, and Met Gala guests as physically possible.

Last night, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez kicked off their celebrations with a star-studded soirée. The couple, who were announced as lead donors and honorary co-chairs of this year’s Met Gala, hosted the likes of Nicky Hilton, Jon Batiste, Ashley Graham, Sam Smith, and Lindsey Vonn. Kris and Kendall Jenner attended as well, making the evening a mother-daughter date night, as did the 2026 fundraiser’s co-chairs Venus Williams and Nicole Kidman.

Elsewhere, Teyana Taylor threw a party of her own, bringing together Jennie, Alex Consani, Hunter Schafer, Odessa A’zion, Naomi Watts, Irina Shayk, Sarah Paulson, Natasha Lyonne, and more familiar faces for an intimate burlesque show. Colman Domingo welcomed guests such as Nina Dobrev, Heidi Klum, and Law Roach to his second annual “Put That Shit On” gathering; and, of course, there was the Saturday Night Live after party where Olivia Rodrigo and Connor Storrie spent the evening.

As for more casual sightings, Storrie’s Heated Rivalry co-star, Hudson Williams, was seen outside the Mark, and Doja Cat was captured walking the city streets.
