Even Hollywood stars like Sarah Jessica Parker have their own version of “the one that got away,” but in her case, it was a movie role.
The Failure to Launch star dazzled at a star-studded event in Los Angeles ahead of the highly anticipated 83rd Golden Globe Awards.
Before the annual event, the 60-year-old A-lister was honored at the Golden Eve ceremony along with fellow honoree Helen Mirren.
Before hitting the stage, Parker stunned on the red carpet, bringing her signature charm and commanding presence in a sparkly gold floor-length dress styled with a black belt featuring sparkly detail and a cropped structured blazer.
The actress was joined by her husband, Matthew Broderick, on the red carpet along with their son James Wilkie Broderick, who both looked dapper in matching suits and bow ties.

During a brief interaction with the media, the And Just Like That… star was asked by Variety a candid question about having a “role that got away.”
According to her, she had auditioned “for so many movies” and always thought that the “right person” would get it.
While she kept things on a positive note, she admitted there was a role she wished she had landed.
“I screen tested for one of my favorite movies,” she said, revealing that it was for the 1993 film Groundhog Day.
Moreover, she also mentioned auditioning for “many Hugh Grant movies.”

Helmed by the late Harold Ramis, the director behind iconic films like Ghostbusters, Baby Boom, Year One and more, Groundhog Day is a fantasy romantic comedy film that stars Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell.
Fans in the comment section weighed in, pointing out that celebrities, too, have their own “what ifs.”
“Even legends have roles they wish they landed,” one wrote.
Despite missing out on the role in what she called her “favorite movie,” Parker cemented her status in Hollywood following the massive success of the series Sex and the City.
Her portrayal of the character Carrie Bradshaw, a New York City newspaper columnist and freelance writer, became so iconic that it not only defined a generation of television but also solidified her legacy as a pop culture and fashion icon.
Moreover, she also earned multiple accolades for the iconic role, including two Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards.
Parker played Carrie Bradshaw for 27 years, following the show’s debut in 1998.
