During a recent episode of ESPN's morning show 'Get Up,' retired All-Pro linebacker Bart Scott shared his grim thoughts about the Kansas City Chiefs returning to the playoffs in 2026.

"I think at some point you know you get, you're not afraid of the big bad wolf. We saw this happen late with Tom Brady. I feel like when I'm looking at the Kansas City Chiefs, I may be looking at the Golden State Warriors, where even though you have Steph (Stephen Curry), that's still playing at a high level, is Chris Jones who he used to be?, and we know Travis Kelce isn't who he used to be." said Scott, "They failed to replace him and be able to find replacements for them. I say, if they want to try and get some explosives, call the cheetah (Tyreek Hill). If you put the band back together, he's probably available. We don't know how healthy he is, but we know you don't just get slow, no matter what type of injury you have."

The Chiefs added Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker III to upgrade the running back position and added multiple veterans on defense. The 2026 NFL Draft saw the team add several high-potential defensive standouts as the secondary was revamped following high-profile departures.

Scott's concerns centered on the team's explosiveness and uncertainty at wide receiver, as well as the off-the-field issues involving Rashee Rice. The potential of a Tyreek Hill signing remains in the rumor mill, although his health is in question following his serious injury last season.
