Murder, She Wrote star Angela Lansbury relocated to the opposite side of the globe after her daughter became entangled with Charles Manson.
The infamous cult leader masterminded a string of killings in 1969, including the murder of expectant actress Sharon Tate, after commanding his "family" of young disciples to execute the savage attacks.
Lansbury, who passed away in 2022, was living in LA when her daughter, Deirdre, got caught up with a group that was under Manson's influence. The Hollywood icon acknowledged that her daughter was "fascinated" by the cult leader after she got involved with drugs during her teenage years.

"It pains me to say it but, at one stage, Deidre was in with a crowd led by Charles Manson," she told MailOnline in 2014. Lansbury went on: "She was one of many youngsters who knew him - and they were fascinated. He was an extraordinary character, charismatic in many ways, no question about it."
Upon learning her daughter had fallen under Manson's influence, she informed her husband, fellow actor Peter Shaw, that they needed to depart Los Angeles permanently.

The family relocated to Ireland, which is where Lansbury's mother was born, reports the Express.
"We upped sticks and moved the family to a house I found in County Cork," Lansbury disclosed. "I was drawn to Ireland because it was the birthplace of my mother, and it was also somewhere my children wouldn't be exposed to any more bad influences."
The Beauty and the Beast star reflected on the relocation as "a wonderful time in my life", though she acknowledged it took Deirdre somewhat longer to overcome her "bad habits".

Nevertheless, she transformed her circumstances and returned to Los Angeles following her marriage.
Lansbury died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 96 in 2022, just five days before her 97th birthday.
Her professional journey extended nearly eight decades, with her most memorable performances in Murder, She Wrote, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Beauty and the Beast, and Nanny McPhee.
She earned widespread recognition for her contributions to musical theater, securing six Tony Awards, including the Lifetime Achievement honor in 2022.
The performer received countless honors during her lifetime, including six Golden Globes, a Laurence Olivier Award, and Lifetime Achievement recognitions at the BAFTAs and Academy Awards.
Lansbury was appointed a CBE in the 1994 Birthday Honours and elevated to Dame in the 2014 New Year Honours for services to drama, charitable work, and philanthropy.
