Hudson Williams as Shane Hollander and Connor Storrie as Ilya Rozanov in 'Heated Rivalry'

If you’re among those still recovering from Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov's fictional trip to the cottage, join the club.

Based on author Rachel Reid's novel of the same name, Heated Rivalry has taken the internet by storm ever since it premiered on HBO Max in late November 2025, after originally being adapted for Canadian streaming service Crave. The LGBTQ+ romance series tells the story of two hockey stars, played by Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, who go from rivals to lovers over the span of several years.

In early December 2025, two weeks before the finale, Heated Rivalry was renewed for a second season. While fans still have a ways to go before Shane and Ilya are back on the ice, there are plenty of other shows to help fill the void in the meantime — that is, if you can pull yourself away from the string of fan edits on TikTok.

From Fellow Travelers to Young Royals, here are six shows like Heated Rivalry to watch while you're waiting for season 2.

Like Heated Rivalry, Heartstopper is also adapted from a book series. The show chronicles the blossoming romance between two boys, closeted rugby player Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) and shy Charlie Spring (Joe Locke).

In April 2025, Netflix announced that the fan-favorite series will end with a feature film instead of a fourth and final season.

Grace Van Patten and Jackson White in 'Tell Me Lies'

It's hard to imagine any other TV characters having more chemistry than Shane and Ilya — but Tell Me Lies' Stephen DeMarco and Lucy Albright put up quite the competition. Starring real-life couple Jackson White and Grace Van Patten, the college-set drama follows Stephen and Lucy in a tumultuous, toxic and very steamy romance over the course of several years.

Good news: It returns for season 3 on Jan. 13, with Van Patten telling PEOPLE it's filled with "endless" drama.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers

Disney+ 'The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers' season 2.

If Heated Rivalry is on your screen for the hockey alone, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers might be the next series for you.

A spinoff of the film trilogy from the '90s, this show is also set in the hockey world, swapping romance for a lovable bunch of misfit players learning to rediscover the joy of the game.
