Michael B. Jordan just had an awkward moment with his mom at the Golden Globes 2026, after host Nikki Glaser singled him out during her monologue.

"In *Sinners*, Michael played two brothers," Glaser began. "Am I allowed to say that?"

The comedian plunged ahead, explaining that the *Creed* star had played twins in the vampire movie directed by his frequent collaborator Ryan Coogler.

"And I can't believe it," Glaser said. "We got two Michael B. Jordans. When I saw that, I was like, Nikki B. Jerking, because that was awesome."

Jordan's mom, Donna Jordan, appeared a little uncomfortable — wouldn't you be? — and took a drink of what looked to be water, as the crowd laughed. Her son hid his face and laughed.**

Ahead of the show, Donna Jordan spoke about her love for her son and what she wanted people to understand about him.**

"Just his commitment and his dedication and his persistence to his craft,” she said to Zuri Hall on E!’s red carpet show. "And the messages that he tries to share with everyone with the choices that he makes and the work that he does. I'm very proud of that."

*Sinners*, in which Jordan portrays identical twins Smoke and Stack, was one of the night's top nominees going into the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. The film had seven nods, including Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture — Drama for Jordan and Best Motion Picture — Drama.**

Jordan has brought his mom as his date on red carpets before, including the 2026 Critics Choice Awards earlier this month.

The *Black Panther *actor is known to be close with his mom, and he's previously apologized to her for putting her in not the most comfortable situations.

For instance, he previously stripped down to his underwear for a Calvin Klein campaign, where he was pictured on billboards and in print.

"I was like, 'My mama going to have to see this,'" he told *ET *in February 2023. "Let me call her and be like, 'I'm sorry. It's out here. My business all out in the streets' — literally."**

She must be used to it by now, however, as Jordan was named PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive in 2020.
