Meghan Markle has reportedly turned down a role from Prince Harry following their August return to the UK. A source has disclosed the Duchess of Sussex has her own objectives going forward and doesn't want to trail her husband around "like some Stepford wife".
The pair have settled into a private, non-royal residence in the Cotswolds after returning to Britain, with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, now attending a local school.
The Sussexes have established distinct routines and public personas since their homecoming. Harry has immersed himself in solo appearances while Meghan has withdrawn from networking functions, with insiders asserting she has "no intention of following him around" as suggested. Instead, she is concentrating on her own commercial ventures and overseeing the household.
As reported by Closer, the source stated: "She's focused on the kids and her brand, and truth be told, she's not interested in following him around like some Stepford wife."

Harry is reportedly supportive of that arrangement.
However, the source added that "it does mean a whole lot more pressure on his shoulders and absolutely zero time to himself because the moment he's free from work, he's got to rush home to give Meghan a break from parenting duties."

The prince is also believed to have made it his personal mission to demonstrate that his family's relocation to the UK was the right call.
He has found himself balancing numerous responsibilities, spanning family commitments, charitable endeavors, business ventures, and overseas travel.

The source continued: "Getting them all to England was just the first battle, now he has to prove that it was the right decision, which means a whole lot of hard work."
Harry is reportedly "adamant" about making the move work, with the source adding: "He's running from one gig to the next and at the same time he's working all his contacts to find other opportunities, and not just for himself, he wants to open doors for Meghan too, he promised her he would."
Meanwhile, Meghan is reportedly refusing to accept the notion that Brits will never embrace her presence in the UK.
Despite having yet to make any official public appearances in Britain, she is understood to be laying the groundwork for future engagements.
A source said: "Meghan is very competitive, she loves taking on a challenge, and she's coming back to the UK with the mindset that she can turn things around and win people over.
"She's heard all the predictions that she'll never be welcomed in England again, but she's refusing to just roll over and accept that as the truth. There was a time when all the hostility she's facing across the pond would have taken her down, but she's stronger than she was six years ago, and she's insisting that she's ready to stand up and fight back."
