For Katy Perry, her suddenly axed concert in Belgium is "The One That Got Away."
The popstar shared in a Saturday, June 27, Instagram post that she was "backstage at the show in the middle of hair and makeup" when she learned that her Werchter Boutique festival set on the outskirts of Brussels would not be going forward due to "a government mandated cancellation" stemming from inclement weather.
Writing that "they gave me no choice," Perry noted, "I am just as unhappy as you are. Unfortunately this is beyond my control, but the safety of all 55,000 of you always comes first and foremost."
"I am sorry I can’t change the weather, and even sorrier that all of us can’t be together tonight," Perry continued. "I was looking forward to being back after 17 years, I was even gonna wear the same outfit from that 2009 show again. I love you all, and please get home safe. ☹️"

The festival shared a June 28 update that stated, "A severe storm passed over the country. By closing the Festivalpark early, we were able to ensure that everyone got home safely."
After Belgium's Royal Meteorological Institute issued an orange-level warning for "intense" storms from 6 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday, flooded roads and closures were reported amid a record-breaking heatwave.
Perry performed at Rock Werchter in 2009 as part of her first headlining tour, the Hello Katy Tour. She is currently on the summer festival circuit ahead of the release of her concert film, Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour - Live from Paris, which is set to bow in "late summer."
Her next scheduled show is at Depot Live in Cardiff, Wales.
