Kate Middleton celebrated her birthday with an intimate family lunch instead of a fancy palace party.
The Princess of Wales wanted to avoid royals she finds "difficult."
A source says there's "constant scrutiny" with some royal relatives.
Kate Middleton recently celebrated her birthday, and apparently she wanted to get as far away from the palace as possible. The Princess of Wales was spotted at a private lunch with her sister, Pippa Middleton, and mom, Carole Middleton, opting for a small family celebration instead of a big splashy palace party.
"She was completely at ease — warm, charming, and radiant," a source tells Rob Shuter's ShuterScoop. "With her family, she can laugh, relax, and just be herself. That’s harder to do with some royal relatives."
Another source adds that "Family and simple surroundings are where she truly relaxes," with yet another noting "Some royal relatives can be difficult, with endless expectations and constant scrutiny. Kate treasures these moments with Pippa and Carole, where she doesn’t have to navigate any of that."

Anyway, reminder that Kate publicly celebrated her birthday with a video reflecting while on nature walk, saying "Even in the coldest, darkest season, winter has a way of bringing us stillness, patience and quiet consideration… I find myself reflecting on how deeply grateful I am."
