John Leguizamo recently revealed which of his iconic film lines fans quote back to him the most.

Leguizamo, 66, caught up with PEOPLE at the Critics Choice Association’s 6th Annual Celebración of Cinema & Television in Beverly Hills, Calif., where the actor was honored with the Career Achievement Award celebrating his four decades in the industry.

During the conversation, PEOPLE asked the star which of his movie lines gets quoted back to him the most by fans.

“They all say ‘Benny Blanco from the Bronx’ — from Carlito’s Way,” Leguizamo said.

“Or they go, ‘We don’t talk about Bruno’ from Encanto,’ ” he added. “Or they start talking like Sid the Sloth in Ice Age.”

“Chi-Chi, they do Chi-Chi Rodriguez — ‘I got more legs than a bucket of chicken!’ ” he continued — a reference to his role as a lovable “drag princess” in the 1995 cult classic To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.

The actor also reflected on the fact that 2026 marked the 30th anniversary of Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, in which he played Tybalt.

“I mean, to have worked with Baz Luhrmann — one of the iconic directors of our time — was such a joy for me, and I’m so proud of that movie,” he told PEOPLE.

“The work is so beautiful. It brought Shakespeare to a lot of young people who didn’t like Shakespeare and made it accessible. So I’m glad we changed a lot of minds,” he added.

Leguizamo additionally said that receiving the Critics Choice Association’s Career Achievement Award after 40 years in the industry felt “pretty damn good.”

“It feels like it was all worth something,” he added.

As for what the actor is working on next?

Leguizamo revealed it’s another project with his The Odyssey costar Matt Damon that will be directed by Oscar-winning filmmakers Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert — the creative minds behind 2022’s megahit Everything Everywhere All at Once.

“We’re doing the Daniels’ [new movie] because working with Matt is a joy and a half,” Leguizamo told PEOPLE. “He’s the coolest, funniest, realest dude that I ever hung out with. So yeah, I’ll do a third if he’s up for it, if he can tolerate me.”

However, the ER alum said he can’t reveal too many details about the new project.

“I’m not allowed to say anything except there’s a Daniels movie [and] we’re having an amazing time,” he said.

“The cast is unbelievable — a whole bunch of new kids who are so talented and inspire me. I mean, the young actors coming up, oh my God, they give me so much hope and so much joy,” he added.
