Throughout the season, the Pittsburgh Steelers have leaned heavily on standout performances from 32-year-old defensive powerhouse TJ Watt to compensate for an otherwise middling roster. However, Watt's vision was compromised during Sunday's matchup against the Indianapolis Colts - though through no fault of his own.
The Steelers' edge rusher suffered a hand to the face from Colts right tackle Jalen Travis during a second-quarter play, forcing him to the medical tent and sidelining him for the remainder of the half with an eye injury. Pittsburgh held a narrow 14-13 lead at the time.
Watching from the CBS broadcast booth was JJ Watt - three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year and TJ's older brother by five years. True to form, he couldn't help but laugh at his younger sibling's misfortune. It comes as FOX viewers lashed out after missing start of Sunday Night Football due to clash, while Terry Bradshaw tore into an 'insecure' NFL coaching legend in new memoir.

"Let's see what happens. Oh yeah, a little poke in the eyeball. That looks like me to him in the living room when we were kids," the elder Watt said with a chuckle, drawing a laugh from play-by-play man Jim Nantz.
TJ Watt failed to register a single defensive stat against the Colts, yet it proved inconsequential. Fueled by a commanding showing from running back Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh dispatched Indianapolis 34-22, pushing their record to 2-2, reports the Mirror US.

Heading into the game, Watt had been firmly in the conversation for the 2026 NFL Defensive Player of the Year award, having accumulated 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and a pick-six across the season's opening four weeks. The elder JJ, in his first full season as CBS's top color commentator, found himself in an awkward moment pregame when Kyle Long questioned him about his younger brother's age.
"I should know the answer to that," he admitted, causing Long to be stunned. "I just know it's his birthday, man! We're grown adults here!" The Watt brothers hold the unique distinction of being the only siblings to each claim Defensive Player of the Year honors.
TJ Watt played a key role in limiting the Colts' former First-team All-Pro running back, Jonathan Taylor, to a mere 45 rushing yards on 15 carries. Many attributed this success to head coach Mike McCarthy's choice to relocate defensive coordinator Patrick Graham to the sideline.
"I just felt that we needed - it needed to be different," the Steelers coach explained.
"The communication on game day is such a critical part to your success. I mean, you used to always talk about the Monday morning quarterback. You can't wait until Monday.
"Having him down there just brings a lot of energy," linebacker Alex Highsmith remarked about the change. "We were talking to him right there and whatnot. Him communicating with us the whole time was awesome."
