Jaafar Jackson comes from a large and famous family.
In addition to being Michael Jackson's nephew — and playing him in the 2026 biopic Michael — the singer and actor has 11 siblings, two of whom are also his cousins.
His mother, Alejandra Oaziaza, welcomed two children with Randy Jackson, the King of Pop's only younger brother. Though they dated for several years, they never married, and she left him in 1995 to marry Jermaine Jackson.
During their eight-year marriage, they welcomed two children: Jaafar and Jermajesty Jackson. Jermaine also has five children from previous relationships.

Oaziaza had two children with Jermaine’s younger brother

In 1986, Oaziaza met and eventually started dating Randy, per the New York Post. They welcomed a daughter, Genevieve Katherine Jackson, in 1989, and a son, Steven Randall Jackson, Jr., in 1992.
Both of their children have gone into the star-studded family business.
Genevieve has worked as a manager for Kobalt Music since 2018, per her LinkedIn, and Randall is an Emmy-nominated director and producer who has worked on shows like Only Murders in the Building, per his Instagram.
Oaziaza quietly married Jermaine after splitting from Randy

Though Oaziaza and Randy dated for several years, they never married. She told journalist and close family friend Stacy Brown, per the New York Post, that he didn't treat her like she "was the one."
At some point, Oaziaza started seeing Randy's older brother, whom she described as "different" and "more family-oriented."

By 1995, Jermaine and Oaziaza had quietly wed and started a family of their own. Jaafar was born in July 1996, followed four years later by Jermajesty in October 2000.
The couple also raised Donte Jackson, whom Jermaine's parents, Katherine and Joe Jackson, adopted as a 2-year-old, per Deadline.
They were married for over eight years before divorcing in 2004.

In an April 2026 conversation with his Michael costar Miles Teller for Interview Magazine, Jaafar said that he had "35 to 40 cousins" and "nine brothers and two sisters."
Many of his extended family gathered at the Jackson family's compound in Encino, Calif., known as Hayvenhurst, growing up — a dynamic that Prince Jackson would later reflect on.
"Growing up with Jaafar, as we did at Hayvenhurst, as siblings, as cousins, making home movies, to now, here we are making a major motion picture about my father, his uncle, someone we both love very much," Michael's son told ABC News in April 2026, describing the full-circle moment.

When it comes to complex family dynamics, Genevieve and Randall have kept it simple by referring to Jaafar as their brother on their respective social media accounts.
In April 2026, Genevieve shared a series of photos on Instagram from the Los Angeles premiere of Michael and wrote that she was "still taking it all in ✨.""Premiere night for Michael… watching my brother Jaafar honor our uncle in such a powerful way. I'm beyond proud," she continued. "A magical night I'll never forget 🤍."
Randall also posted about attending the premiere on Instagram, describing it as "pure magic."
"An unforgettable night honoring my uncle!" he wrote. "So grateful to share this moment in cinematic history with my brother @jaafarjackson and our family."
