Isaac Efraín Valadez, a Mexican content creator known online under the name “Chakin Valadez,” was found dead inside his truck on Jan. 10 with fatal gunshot wounds. He was 44.
According to El Heraldo de México, a local newspaper, police in Ensenada, Mexico, received a report of an armed attack in the morning of Jan. 10, discovering Valadez inside his truck with several fatal gunshot wounds just before 7 a.m. At least seven shots were fired, and Valadez was pronounced dead at the scene, the outlet reported.
Valadez, identified as a package delivery driver by El Heraldo de México, maintained a following of over 164,000 people on Facebook, where he shared videos from the open road and documented his travels throughout Mexico.
El Heraldo de México reported that the Baja California State Attorney General's Office has not yet made any arrests in connection with Valadez’s death.
Valadez seemingly last his social media profiles mere hours before his death, sharing a video in the late evening of Jan. 9 of his drive to the town of Cataviña and commenting on the strong winds.
Minutes before, he also shared a haunting message to Facebook, commenting that his trip seemed “to be the last one.”
“But we gonna enjoy it like it's the first of the year,” he continued in Spanish. “Nothing is as real as the speed that persists when looking or feeling through the windows of the soul.”
In the comments of his final post, fans of the late internet personality wrote in tributes after news of his death was made public.
