Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher met in 1998 and began dating in 2012.

Two years later, the couple welcomed daughter Wyatt Isabelle on October 1, 2014.

Little brother Dimitri Portwood was born on November 30, 2016.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ Hollywood love story began in 1998 with a kiss on the set of That ‘70s Show. Although sparks didn’t immediately fly, the two stayed in touch after the show wrapped in 2006, even as they went their separate ways.

Kutcher married Demi Moore in 2005; the couple split in 2011. Kunis, meanwhile, was in a long-term relationship with Macaulay Culkin, which also ended in 2011.  It wasn’t until an unexpected reunion between Kutcher and Kunis at the 2012 Golden Globes that reignited the spark between them.

“I see this guy, and I see his back, and he’s really tall, and I’m like, ‘Who’s that tall guy?’” Kunis said about their reunion during a 2016 interview on The Howard Stern Show. “And I’m wearing this big poofy dress, and I look ridiculous … and then he just turns around, and it was like, literally, if we were in a movie, the music would start playing, and violins would go.”

She added, “I think that he, for the first time ever, just took my breath away.”

Despite first crossing paths in 1998, the longtime lovebirds didn’t officially become a couple until 2012. The couple were engaged two years later, and welcomed Wyatt and Dimitri in 2014 and 2016, respectively.

“For me, the No. 1 role I will ever play is to be a father,” the Two and a Half Men alum told Peoplein 2023 about his children. “It’s the most important role in my life.” Kunis has also shared similar sentiments about parenthood and the importance of being present for their two children.

“It is the most life-changing experience you can have, in my opinion,” she said amid her break from acting during a Reddit AMA, per E! Online. “Everything changed. I am proud to be a stay-at-home mom. I have no desire to be in front of the camera. I find her [Wyatt] to be the most challenging job I’ve had.”

The couple are also famously protective of their children’s privacy and have made an effort to shield them from the public eye as much as possible. “My wife and I have chosen a career where we’re in the public light, but my kids have not so I think they have the right to choose that.” Kutcher said during an interview with Thrive Global Podcast in 2017, per People. He added, “It’s their private life, it’s not mine to give away.”

In 2024, the family of four made their first public appearance at a WNBA game. Kutcher and Kunis sat courtside with Wyatt, then 9, and Dimitri, then 7, as the Indiana Fever played against the Los Angeles Sparks.

In a 2018 interview on Dax Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert, Kutcher explained his hopes to raise resourceful kids. As part of those efforts, he and Kunis don’t plan to leave all their money to their kids. “I’m not setting up a trust for them. We’ll end up giving our money away to charity,” Kutcher said. “If my kids want to start a business, and they have a good business plan, I’ll invest in it, but they’re not getting trusts.”

The couple officially became parents with the arrival of their daughter on October 1, 2014. Wyatt was born in Los Angeles at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, per The Hollywood Reporter. Dad Kutcher confirmed the news on his website, writing, “May your life be filled with wonder, love, laughter, health, happiness, curiosity, and privacy.”

In 2017, Kunis opened up about motherhood and the importance of owning up to her mistakes in an interview with People.  “The only thing I’ve ever felt guilty about, and I actually apologized to my 3-year-old, is when I overreact,” she told the publication. “I absolutely apologize to her. Even from a point when she didn’t understand that I was apologizing, I would be like, ‘I’m really sorry. Mommy didn’t handle that situation very well.’”

Kunis also revealed her daughter’s favorite topic in a 2021 interview with People: outer space. “My daughter is in love with space,” the Bad Moms actress said. “Right now, if you asked her what does she want to be when she grows up, she’s going to tell you she wants to be an astronaut chef in space.”

Although the couple values keeping their children’s identity private, the parents were recently spotted during a rare Los Angeles with their daughter Wyatt in August, per the Daily Mail.

Wyatt’s little brother Dimitri was born on November 30, 2016. His middle name is an homage to Kutcher’s stepfather Mark Portwood. Like many kids, a large chunk of his childhood overlapped with the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I think the whole thing was scary, but we talked about it a lot,” Kutcher told Peoplein 2021. “Our kids are still pretty young and our son is going to be 5 and he’s probably known more of life in a mask than not in a mask. So for him and our daughter as well, it’s just a lesson in resilience.”

Kunis, for her part, coped with lockdown by organizing what she called a baby rave. “I was like, ‘Guys, we’re going to a rave.’ My husband’s like, ‘What?’ I was like, ‘Don’t worry about it—I got this,’” she told Jimmy Kimmel in 2021. “I took my 4-year-old and my 6-year-old and my grown-ass husband to a baby rave.”

The following summer, the family of four embarked on a “crazy 10-day road trip,” per People. “We just went cruising in a van to the national parks around the country. Just hanging out with our kids 24/7 and it was phenomenal,” Kutcher said. “I have the best time with my kids. If I never had to send them back that would be my preference.”
