Chase Infiniti recalled a time she was tasked to shave Leonardo DiCaprio's beard when speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Jan. 14
The actress was instructed by Paul Thomas Anderson, who directed them in One Battle After Another
The grooming gig didn't go as planned because she admitted she "didn't know what I was doing"
Chase Infiniti made her mark.
The 25-year-old actress opened up about a time she had to shave co-star Leonardo DiCaprio's beard before filming One Battle After Other, but the bonding experience didn't necessarily go as planned.
Infiniti, who made her feature film debut in the Paul Thomas Anderson-directed film, explained to Jimmy Kimmel during her guest appearance on his eponymous late night show that the grooming gig on the Oscar winner, 51, took place prior to filming.

"Around the time I was getting to my last callback and chemistry reads, one of the things that Paul had me do to kind of have me and Leo bond was [shave] his face... because Paul was trying to figure out what his facial hair was going to look like," she shared on the show.
"And he was like, 'Here Chase, go in and shave his face'!" Infiniti recalled Anderson telling her, despite her "never using an electric shaver" before taking one to the acclaimed actor's beard. "I don't know what I'm doing," she admitted of her thought process at the time.
"I ended up making it crooked," she said, laughing about her botched job on DiCaprio's facial hair. "So somewhere there's a video of me shaving his face!"
Kimmel, who spoke with Infiniti on the show three days after she and the cast of One Battle After Another won four Golden Globe awards on Jan. 11, was in disbelief at the bonding experience she was tasked to do with the actor.

Benicio del Toro, Teyana Taylor, Sara Murphy, Chase Infiniti, Paul Thomas Anderson, and Leonardo DiCaprio accept the Golden Globe for best motion picture on Jan. 11, 2026.
"Really! That's a weird thing to do, isn't it? That's a lot of responsibility," the comedian told her, adding, "That face is like a national treasure."
Infiniti added, "I was like shaking the entire time. I was like, 'I'm so sorry. I hope I don't do anything wrong'."
Kimmel asked if DiCaprio had a say on whether he'd be okay with "an amateur face shaver doing that to his face" or if "Paul is completely in charge" at what went down.
"It was definitely Paul," the actress responded with a laugh.

Michael De Luca, Teyana Taylor, Chase Infiniti, Paul Thomas Anderson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Pamela Abdy and Benicio del Toro win the Critics Choice Award for Best Picture for "One Battle After Another" at the 31st Annual Critics Choice Awards.
One Battle After Another was named the Best Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical) at the 2026 Golden Globes, beating out Blue Moon, Bugonia, Marty Supreme, No Other Choice and Nouvelle Vague for the prize.
The film, which satires radical politics, also earned Anderson two trophies: one for his direction and another for his screenplay. Actress Teyana Taylor's supporting performance got her the win, as well.
In November, Infiniti spoke with PEOPLE exclusively about another bonding experience she did with DiCaprio in between takes on set: film TikToks. To her surprise, he liked it!
“I would show him trends, and I would be like, ‘Hey, is this something that you're interested in? I think it would be really fun,’” Infiniti told PEOPLE on the red carpet of the Gotham Awards. “By the end of it, he got really into it.”

Infiniti also reflected on her first day on set, filming with DiCaprio, who plays her character's father in the film.
"I actually felt very calm going into that day because I had had the chance to meet Leo and workshop that scene and workshop our dynamic a lot," Infiniti said. "I felt very calm going into it, which was nice."
