Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers is marking a bold chapter in his career. Following the news regarding his first-ever solo album, Honora, which will be released this year, the iconic bassist delivered another surprising treat to fans.

In an Instagram post, the 63-year-old musician, whose real name is Michael Peter Balzary, confirmed an upcoming solo tour by posting a handwritten note with the locations and guests.

Promising fans a chance to experience his music in a whole new light and in support of his new album, the bass guitarist shared the tour details, including musicians joining him on stage.

This includes Los Angeles-based bassist Anna Butters, Deantoni Parks on drums, Jeff Parker on guitar and Josh Johnson on saxophone.

Adding to the excitement, Flea hinted that a special “beautiful guest” will be joining him on the tour.

The solo tour is set to take him across the U.S., Canada, Europe and the U.K., giving fans around the world a chance to experience his music live.

Meanwhile, his Instagram update sparked a wave of excitement among fans, especially those who are looking forward to his solo career.

“Band is fireeeeeee!!” one wrote.

“Sounds amazing!! Love you, Flea,” an Instagram user said.

“Sir Flea, if you can build a bridge to Atlanta on this tour, it would be so astounding for us all,” a fan added.

“Tell us when @flea333 can't wait!!! And put Italy in,” a follower requested.

Flea’s announcement also drew love from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who showed their support with a heart emoji comment and a share on the band’s Instagram story.

After decades of being in the iconic rock band, the Australian-born musician, who is also one of the founding members of RHCP, is following his first love.

In a press release cited by Consequence, he is “returning to his first instrument and musical love, the trumpet,” together with “a dream band of modern jazz visionaries.”

Besides the new album and upcoming tour, Flea also released his first single as part of his solo career.

“A Plea,” released in December, was part of his new album under Nonesuch Records.

He described the song as “yearning for a place beyond, a place of love, for me to speak my mind and be myself.”
